BELGRADE – Metal fans got a real treat from the famous Iron Maiden at their concert at Belgrade`s Kalemegdan fortress on Tuesday.

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Aces High, The Evil That Men Do, Fear of the Dark, Iron Maiden, Wasted Years raised the crowd to their feet.

The concert was accompanied by pyrotechnics, as usual during the current Maden England tour.

Fans wearing Iron Maiden T-shirts, black leather pants and jackets could be seen from early afternoon in Belgrade moving converging on Kalemegdan.

This was Iron Maiden`s first outdoor concert in Belgrade since 1981. They appeared indoors at the Belgrade Fair in 2007 and the Arena in 2009, selling close to 40,000 tickets.

Ghost performed as the opening act, while Vladimir Bulat from the Falcons flying club from Zrenjanin performed an air show for the crowd.

Bulat flew a Zlin 526F, once very popular among pilots in the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia.

The plane had an image of Eddie, the band mascot, painted on its underside. The image was taken from the cover of the album Aces High, which features a song under the same name, whose lyrics are about aerial combat during the Battle for Britain in World War Two.
