The beauty and the magic of the Belgrade Fortress make it an anvariable inspiration to those artists, at the end of 19th and especially 20th century, who left their studios in order to paint in the sunlight.

Museum of the City of Belgrade has substantial collection of landscapes of Belgrade and the Belgrade Fortress, consisting of works of somewhere around forty artists, who have made numerous outlines of the Fortress. The autors werw inspired not only with its position on the rock above two rivers, but also with well-set objects of different use and the greenery used to enrich the space at the end of 19th century.

Exposition „THE FORTRESS – ETERNAL INSPIRATION“ is realized from May 27th – June 30th 2010.
