Old crafts workshop was opened in the Inner Stambol Gate in December 2008 as an intention to preserve and promote old crafts as well as to make cooperation of craftsmen.

Workshop is a place where craftsmen of almost forgotten crafts demonstrate their skills in carving wood, and in modelling clay, stone and glass. Craftsmen of different profiles work on pieces for everyday use, but also on those of artistic value, as well as on making tools and weapons.

By experiencing new contents and reviving old crafts, PE “Belgrade Fortress” wants to help people get clearer picture on how things used to be before and the possible potentials as well.

Since 2009 courses on old crafts have been available to the citizens of Belgrade.

All created pieces are exhibited in the Old Crafts Gallery, opened every day from 11 am to 7 pm in the summer, and from 10 am to 5 pm in the winter period.
