Small Gunpowder Magazine is from the era of the Austrian occupation – period between 1725 and 1737, when several parts of rare items of archaeological heritage of the big baroque reconstruction of the Belgrade Fortress were recorded.

Research documentation began in the fall of 1995, followed by the conservation and restoration works as well as the partial reconstruction of this building.

Conservation project in the value of 8,705,586 dinars, finalizing the purpose (information center, gallery), was done by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments in Belgrade. The project was finalized by the end of October 2008 which was also the deadline.
