Restoration and conservation works on counterscarp of the trench in front of the Bastion of the Southeast front were completed in mid-2008. The works included the restoration and conservation of the counterscarp in this area.

While disassembling the counterscarps, it was found that they were in a very poor condition, and that they, on the basis of existing parts, needed restoration. There were five replicas of the Kalemegdan counterscarp set up, in the value of 3.1742 million dinars.
