Ivana Šekularac – Exhibition of sculptures and drawings

Ivana Šekularac is exhibiting her sculptures and drawings at the Gallery of the Belgrade Fortress at the Stambol Gate. The exhibition was opened on February 24th, 2012 at 6pm. This exhibition is a part of gallery activities of PE”Belgrade Fortress”.

You can see the exhibition every day from 10 am to 5 pm. The exhibition closes on March 15th, 2012.

Ivana Šekularac was born in 1984 in Belgrade. She has graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade, at the ceramics department. She has been an independent artist since 2010 and a member of ULUPUDS since 2012. She has participated in a number of group exhibitions and art colonies. “Ivan Tabaković” foundation awarded her on her final year of studies, while in 2009 she received a City of Belgrade purchase prize.

Concept of the exhibition
… A man is a basic motif of the exhibition – portraits and figures set in groups. Modeling of elements and working on both character and expression is something that defines sculpture. Character is very important, as well as the characteristics a sculpture will have once the work is done. There are many phases in ceramics, and going through them, a piece often changes its face. Consequence of being modeled by “fire” brings changes in drawing and shadow, giving the sculpture a slight standstill in time…
