FIRST ELECTRIC BIKE AND SCOOTER PARKING SPACE IN SERBIA

Blog

The electric scooter and bike users can stop worrying about where to charge their electric vehicles now that Belgrade has got its first parking space at the Kalemegdan Park to accommodate and charge all Belgrade visitors and citizens’ e-scooters and e-bikes free of charge. Belgrade is now another global metropolis to provide its citizens with the benefit of parking these eco-friendly vehicles.

This initiative was launched as part of Točkologija (Wheelology) Project, which has acknowledged the fact that more and more citizens now accept alternative means of transport due to the pandemic, and that there is an increased number of initiatives advocating reduced traffic emissions.

The smart city station type combining safe parking and charging of e-wheels is located at the Little Kalemegdan Park between the staircase and Constantinople Road and is free for all citizens.

A station lot is unlocked via Bikeep mobile application or contactless smart card and has four security levels (steel structure, surveillance camera, siren and signal forwarding in case of attempted theft).
