Exhibition by Zorica Nikic at the Gallery of the Belgrade Fortress

The exhibition by the artist Zorica Niki will be set up at the Gallery of the Belgrade Fortress in the Inner Stambol Gate and will be available to visitors from March 10th to April 5th, 2022, every day except Monday. The working hours of the gallery are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the entrance is free of charge.
Displayed black and white photographs entitled “Abandoned Places – Urban Challenges”, were taken in the period from 2019 to 2021, in Belgrade and the surrounding area. These are works of art produced by applying digital photography technique, size 20×30 cm. Just as the title suggests, the exhibition shows abandoned places, i.e. former factories, which can be an artistic inspiration, but can also have many other purposes in modern urban environments.
The artist Zorica Nikic, whose works are on display, was born in Frankfurt am Main, FR Germany. She finished elementary school in Zemun, where she now lives and works. She graduated from the Academy of the Serbian Orthodox Church for Arts and Conservation in 2016.
She finished her Master’s degree studies in conservation-restoration at the Faculty of Applied Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade, and graduated in 2017.
She has participated in a significant number of domestic and international collective exhibitions and is the author of three solo exhibitions: “My Zemun” (“Moj Zemun”) at the Art Gallery “Stara Kapetanija” in 2019, “My River my dreams” (“Moja reka moji snovi”) at the Art Gallery “Stara Kapetanija” in 2020 and “Collages” (“Kolaži”) in the “Cultural Center Stara Pazova” in 2021.
She is interested in painting, restoration and photography.
