Exhibition 20 Years of Swiss Trams in Belgrade

Blog

On Sunday, 11 September 2021, the exhibition entitled 20 Years of Swiss Trams in Belgrade was publicly displayed, and you can visit it, during the next ten days, on the Sava Promenade, where you can enjoy the site of poetic photographs of these well-recognized transport vehicles.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Director of the Belgrade Fortress, Marija Kuprešanin, welcomed distinguished guests, including the Swiss Ambassador to Belgrade, Urs Schmid, City Secretary for Public Transport, Jovica Vasiljević and the Director of PUC GSP Belgrade, Radiša Momčilović.

Since 2001, a total of 113 vehicles (48 trams and 65 trailers) have been delivered from Basel to Belgrade. Today, Swiss trams make up one third of Belgrade’s tram fleet.

The donated Swiss trams cover an average annual distance of 916,000 kilometres and carry more than 7 million passengers a year. It is simply impossible to imagine the city life of Belgrade without green and yellow trams!
