The Mayor Visits the Belgrade Fortress

In the company of the General Manager of PE Belgrade Fortress, Marija Kuprešanin, the Mayor of Belgrade, prof. Dr Zoran Radojičić, visited the Charles VI Gate today, which will soon be renovated, pending the already announced public procurement procedure.

In his statement to the media, the mayor emphasized that the value of the reconstruction works on this gate will amount to RSD 26.5 million and added: “Apart from the reconstruction of the Charles VI Gate, we are planning other reconstruction activities within the Belgrade Fortress – Kalemegdan. From 2018 until now, we have invested almost RSD 320 million in the reconstruction of different parts of Kalemegdan. A tender procedure has been completed for the reconstruction of the Zindan Gate, and the value of those works is estimated at RSD 120 million. In the following period, we are planning to reconstruct the Vidin Gate, and the value of those works will amount to over RSD 140 million. So far, we have arranged parks, pedestrian paths, three bridges, retaining walls, and we plan to solve the issue of complete video surveillance worth an estimated RSD 50 million.”

In the end, he pointed out that the City of Belgrade and PE Belgrade Fortress have invested significantly in the reconstruction of this historical and cultural core of the capital in the previous three years and that further investments will continue.
