Exhibition “Japan Fashion Now” has been opened at the Sava promenade at Kalemegdan Park, on Sunday 25th September 2011 at 06.00pm.

The exhibition was opened by U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Mary Warlick, Ambassador of Japan Toshio Tsunozaki, director of PE “Belgrade Fortress” Ivana Lučić Todosić and Mirjana Prošić Dvornić (university professor Nortvud Midland, Michigan, USA). The exhibition was prepared by Dr. Valerie Steele, director and curator of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, chief editor of “The theory of mode” (Fashion Theory) and author of multiple books and articles about the phenomenon of fashion. The original exhibition was held in New York from autumn 2008 to the spring 2009, and consisted of authentic items.

The exhibition was organized by the Public Enterprise “Belgrade Fortress” in collaboration with the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, as part of an international conference between – Culture clothing between East and West, organized by the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, which is also the host of the meeting of the ICOM (International Council of Museums) Committee on the costume.

The exhibition can be viewed until 15th October 2011.
