Belgrade, 13.01.2014 – In course of 2014 within marking the events of 1914 and 1944 and the fate of the City of Belgrade and its residents, PE “Belgrade Fortress” plans to realize a series of exhibitions in a public space on the Sava promenade at Kalemegdan Park.
In an effort to present lives and destinies of ordinary people affected by the Whirlwinds of First and Second World Wars, PE “Belgrade Fortress” invites all interested individuals holding photographs relating to Belgrade and residents of Belgrade during 1914 and 1944 in their private collections to submit them to JP “Belgrade Fortress” and thereby contribute to a wider perception of the period from a different angle, emphasizing common human stories and private events that later took on a historical significance and effected the fate of many people.
PE “Belgrade Fortress” plans to use a part of the material collected in this manner for the realization of several exhibition in a public space on the Sava promenade at Kalemegdan Park, naturally with the approval and accreditation of all photo owners.
Photographs can be submitted in digital format by e-mail to: galerija@beogradskatvrdjava.co.rs.
Along with photographs it is necessary to submit a completed Form for collecting information about photographs, which has to include the following information: name, time of making and a description of a photograph, contact information of photo owner – first and last name, address, telephone number, e-mail address. You can download this form at the bottom of this page.
It is necessary that photographs submitted in digital format have the highest possible quality and the highest possible resolution, due to the fact that they will be printed in large exhibition formats.
If you have photos only in physical format, feel free to contact us and we will arrange for certain selected photographs to be digitized for the realization of an exhibition.
PE “Belgrade Fortress” reserves the right to select and choose photographs that will be used for the realization of an exhibition in a public space.
By submitting a photograph photo owner agrees that PE “Belgrade Fortress” is free to handle the submitted material at sole discretion (freely, without compensation to the photo owner, publish, print and use the photograph in an electronic format), but with the obligation to specify the name of the photo owner when using the letter.

– “Not so long ago … fellow citizens” (photographs can be submitted until April 2014)
– “Lament over Belgrade” (photographs can be submitted until July 2014)
Exhibitions whose subject matter relates to 1944
– “Gazed into the sky” (photographs can be submitted until March 2014)
– “The story of another life” (photographs can be submitted until August 2014)
