The memorial bust to Ivan Goran Kovacic is the 1969 work of sculptor Vojin Bakic.
Ivan Goran Kovacic (1913–1943) was a writer, translator and journalist. His poem The Pit has undergone a large number of editions and translations. The 1948 French edition was illustrated by Pablo Picasso.
