The founders of the Serbian and Yugoslav basketball tradition got a monument to their efforts and achievements in Belgrade’s Kalemegdan park on the border between the grounds of the Red Star and Partizan clubs.

The monument was unveiled on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Serbian Basketball Association and is dedicated to the players who went to the first world championships in Buenos Aires and their head coach Frenchman Henri Hell.

The ceremony was attended by officials from the Serbian and French basketball federations and Belgrade city officials. They said it sends a strong sports message and is a symbol of friendship between the two countries.
