“History of Belgrade is rich with layers. But, there are numerous potentials to further enrich our knowledge of the history: among them are less known “little” or “common people” stories. It is all about those participants in big history whose action have never been registered neither in books nor museums, about the men and women who were small “particles” in process where masses made of millions took their part, thus remaining invisible in post-era interpretations. It is their actions and later impressions of the time that gives us precious corrective in our actual readings of certain historical isssues, becoming so-called “a view from below” or methodological innovation in history research which got its full development in late XX century…”

Author of the majority of photographs is Rista Marjanovic (1885 – 1969).
A number of photographs used in the exhibition belong to the Military museum Belgrade Collection.
