Nina Galić – Exhibition of sculptures and drawings

Blog

The Gallery of the Belgrade Fortress at the Stambol Gate is hosting an exhibition of sculptures and drawings by Nina Galić as part of gallery activities of the PE “Belgrade Fortress”. The opening of the exhibition is on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 6 p.m. Visitors will be able to see the exhibition by January 14, 2012 every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Redesign in the works is a re-contextualization of the existing machines into the domain of art, which does not always mean the transition from functional to non-functional. Adopting from everyday life as a way of taking in order to improve mechanical sculptural potential is more than just a physical act of transferring authorship. In this case, it is about shaping the world of real objects, as potentially being a factor in building a new reality. A line that is created is the following: mind (Latin – intellectus) – invent (a mental picture) – skill (articulum-manufacturing skill) – invention (art).

Nina Galić was born in Kraljevo in 1987. She has completed master studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture in the class of Professor Mrđan Bajić. She received a scholarship from the Fund for Young Talents for 2010/2011. She has participated in several group exhibitions, painting colonies and workshops, including a group exhibition at the workshop “Tropical Lab” at the Lassale College of Fine Arts in the ICA Gallery in Singapore.
