‘Belgrade Fortress ’, the public enterprise for performing art, cultural and business activities, was founded by the Assembly of the City of Belgrade on 12 July 2002. The company runs the operations of common concern for the City of Belgrade in the domain of arts and literary work and arts performance, works of galleries and museums, entertainment, and publishing industry.
The activities are preformed within Belgrade Fortress (Upper and Lower Town ) and Kalemegdan Park (Large and Little Kalemegdan), according to the Entrusting Order on Property Governance.
PE ‘Belgrade Fortress ’ is registered within the Serbian Business Registers Agency for performing the following business activities:
- Galleries, museums and collections
- Showing films
- Fairs
- Publishing books and brochures
- Printing
- Reproduction of film and sound records
- Renting real properties
- Advertising and promotion
- Computer media reproduction
Managing Director and the Board of Directors are managing the enterprise, within three business-administrative sectors: event planning , legal , and financial . The Control Council supervises the company’s activities. There is a 24-hour physical and technical security, taking care of monuments’ and visitors’ at the Belgrade Fortress and the Kalmegdan Park
FACILITIES OPEN FOR VISITORS
PE ’Belgrade Fortress ’ has opened the following facilities for visitors at the Upper Town of the Belgrade Fortress:
The facilities are open for visitors according to the Decision on working hours of the facilities at the Belgrade Fortress .
REGULAR ANNUAL ACTIVITIES ORGANIZED BY PE ‘BELGRADE FORTRESS’ - Art and souvenir presentation in ‘Belgrade Fortress’ Gallery
- Chivalry Tournament presentation is organised in cooperation with SVIBOR Association of Serbia at the Upper Town every Sunday from 12 to 2 pm (regardless of weather conditions)
- Organisation of concerts at the Music Pavilion in the Large Kalemegdan Park on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 6 pm during summertime.
- Presenting old and traditional crafts’ products
- Within the Project for Protection of Old and Traditional Crafts, the event called ‘Trgoviste – Old and Traditional Crafts Fair’ is organised at the entrance to the Large Kalemegdan Park (from Knez Mihajlova Street).
Art and souvenir presentation in ‘Belgrade Fortress’ Gallery
The Gallery , where the contemporary graphic artists’ exhibitions are held, was opened in 2007 in one of the rooms of the Sahat Gate . There is also a souvenir shop, where hand-made ceramics and leather and wood pieces can be found, as well as printing materials, books and monographs about the Belgrade Fortress. PE “Belgrade Fortress ’ is organising concerts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 6 pm during summertime. Presenting old and traditional crafts’ products
The event called ‘Trgoviste – Old and Traditional Crafts Fair’ is being held during the whole year along the footpath, starting at the entrance to the Large Kalemegdan Park all the way to the Monument of Gratitude to France . Old and traditional crafts’ products are presented on the Belgrade Fortress’ carts.
